FUEL SUPPLY AND RETURN LINES
The injection supply lines supply pressurized fuel from the injection pump to the injection nozzles, while the fuel return lines return unused fuel from the fuel tank.

The fuel pump draws fuel from the fuel tank and delivers it under low pressure to the fuel filter/heater/water separator assembly. Fuel is then delivered to the fuel tank by the fuel return lines.

A return line from the fuel filter connects to one bank of the injector nozzles. This line is then connected to the fuel return lines from the injector pump and the opposite bank of injector nozzles.

PUSH CONNECT FITTINGS
Push connect fittings are used to make most fuel line connections in diesel fuel systems. There are two sizes for this vehicle 9.5 mm (3/8-inch) and 7.9 mm (5/16 inch).

IN-LINE SENSOR

An in-line pressure sensor is located in the number 1 cylinder injection nozzle. It detects when the nozzle is supplied with fuel from the fuel pump. The sensor is used to set dynamic timing. The in-line pressure sensor is a replaceable unit inserted into the injector.FUEL SUPPLY AND RETURN LINES
